POLICIES
Conditions of Entry
- Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to be a member of this gym.
- Health and Safety: All members must complete a health questionnaire and disclose any medical conditions that
may affect your ability to participate in gym activities. It is advisable to consult a physician before starting any
exercise program. - Proper Attire: Members are required to wear appropriate gym attire, including athletic shoes and shirts. No
sandals, jeans, or clothing with offensive graphics. - Facility Use: Members must sign in upon entering the gym. Access is granted only to the individual named on
this form. Sharing of access cards or codes is prohibited. - Conduct: Members are expected to maintain respectful behaviour toward volunteers and other members.
Disruptive, abusive, or harassing behaviour will not be tolerated. No food is permitted in the gym area. It is also
an alcohol, smoke and vape free premise. - Equipment Use: All equipment must be used as intended. Members must wipe down machines after use and
return weights to their designated areas. If damage to equipment occurs due to misuse the member is
responsible to replace at their own expense. - Cancellation Policy: Memberships cannot be cancelled. No refunds will be issued for unused membership
periods. - Liability Waiver: By signing this form, you agree to not hold Lock Aquatic and Fitness Centre liable for any injury
or loss sustained while using the facilities. You acknowledge that you are participating at your own risk. - Unaccompanied Disclaimer: By signing this form, you acknowledge and agree that if you attend the facility
unaccompanied, you are personally responsible for any injury or damage to either myself, the equipment or
building while in attendance. - Unaccompanied Users: Are REQUIRED to text one of the instructors on entry and exit of the facility for safety
reasons. - Photography and Media Release: Members consent to the use of photographs and videos taken during gym
activities for promotional purposes unless otherwise stated in writing. - Policy Changes: Lock Aquatic and Fitness Centre reserves the right to modify membership policies and fees with
reasonable notice. - CCTV: is in operation in all public areas with all footage retained by the facility for a minimum of 3 months.
However, if an incident occurs which leads to or is deemed likely to lead to a claim, then the facility can retain
the footage and any associated footage for a minimum of 2 years. - Membership Termination: Lock Aquatic and Fitness Centre reserves the right the terminate your membership at
any time if you disobey the conditions of entry.
Conditions of Entry
- Members are able to use the pool at anytime for personal use between 9am to 9pm. A member 18yrs and over must be responsible for opening and closing the pool, and collecting fees from non-members. There must be 2 people 18yrs and over acting as supervisors. They are responsible for any persons allowed through the gate.
- Pool gates must be kept closed at all times.
- There must be a person competent in First-Aid, and a person with a working mobile phone present at all times.
- Solitary swimming is strictly prohibited.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
0-5 YEARS OLD & NON-SWIMMERS Parents must stay within arm’s reach
6-11 YEARS OLD& WEAK SWIMMERS Parents must be close, be prepared & maintain constant visual contact
12-14 YEAR OLDS Parents must maintain visual contact - No running, bombing or running dives, pool surfaces are slippery when wet.
- Only floating soft toys are permitted
- Animals are not permitted on pool grounds.
- Alcohol, Smoking and Vaping is NOT permitted on the pool grounds, to do so will result in a fine and your
membership may be cancelled. - Persons suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied entry.
- Persons with contagious diseases, boils, school sores, running colds are not permitted to swim
- Glass, stones, coins, bottles etc. is NOT permitted in the pool.
- The wading pool is for the use of children 7yrs and under – unless special circumstances occur.
- Swimming nappies must be worn by small children.
- Report all accidents or emergencies immediately to the supervisors
- There must be no swimming between 9pm and 9am, unless previously organized as chemical treatment may
be in progress.
SUPERVISORS HAVE THE AUTHORITY FROM THE COMMITTEE AND ARE RESPONSIBLE
TO UPHOLD THESE CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND SUSPEND ANY PERSONS NOT WILLING TO COMPLY

- Encourage my child to participate in sport for their individual enjoyment, personal satisfaction, and
improvement. - Remember that people participate in sport for their enjoyment and benefit, not mine.
- Encourage children to participate but will not force them.
- Focus on my child’s effort and performance, rather than winning or losing.
- Abide by the CHILD SAFE ENVIRONMENTS POLICY and all other policies that are connected to it at all timesand taking all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and protection of children and young people.
- Respect the decisions of officials and encourage my child to abide by the rules and accept judgements made by officials.
- Applaud good performance and efforts from all individuals and teams. Children learn by example
- Congratulate all participants on their performance regardless of the outcome.
- Never ridicule or scold an athlete for making a mistake. Positive comments are motivational.
- Be an example to my child and others. Appreciate good performances by all participants.
- Reject the use of violence in any form, whether it is by spectators, coaches, officials, or competitors.
- Support all efforts to make sure the sporting environment is safe and friendly for all children and young people.
- Show appreciation and respect for all people.
- Show respect for all athletes. Without them there would be no competition.
- Encourage competitors to follow the rules and the officials’ decisions.
- Not use foul language, sledge, or harass other competitors, coaches, or officials.
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants, regardless of their gender, ability, ethnicity, cultural background, or religion.
- Recognise the value and importance of volunteer officials, coaches, and team managers. They give their time and resources to provide the knowledge and support for my child’s sporting benefit.
- Listening and responding appropriately to the views and concerns of children and young people
- Ensuring another adult is always present or in sight when conducting one to one coaching, instruction, or other activity.
- Being alert to children and young people who are, or may be at risk of harm, and reporting this quickly to the Child Abuse Report Line (13 14 78)
- Responding quickly, fairly, and transparently to any serious complaints made by a child, young person or their parent/guardian.
- Encouraging children and young people to ‘have a say’ on issues that are important to them.
- If any breach of the Code of Conduct is made, disciplinary action will be enforced.
Swimmers
As a Lock Aquatic and Fitness Centre Swimmer, I will…
- Follow the rules of Lock Aquatic and Fitness Centre at all times.
- Give my best at all times. Be a good sport and a team player. Swim for enjoyment.
- Compete according to the competition conditions and rules. Accept the decisions or directions of the referees or officials. If in disagreement with a decision, I will raise it in an appropriate way with my coach or team manager.
- Control my temper and my language both spoken and on social media. I understand that verbal or physical abuse is not acceptable. I will not criticise by word, action or social media.
- Work equally as hard for my team as I do for myself.
- Be a good sport. Applaud good performances whether they are made for my team or for the opposition.
- Treat all swimming participants as I like to be treated myself. I will not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor.
- Cooperate with my coaches, teammates, opponents, management, event staff ad officials.
- Participate for my own enjoyment and benefit, not to satisfy the expectations of others.
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, ethnicity, cultural background, or religion.
- Ensure that I have adequate rest to obtain my best performance.
- Take responsibility for my actions and follow the directions of coaches and managers at all times
